I would like to know how long it takes to become a Baptist minister?
Plus I like to know, if this is something that can be studied in the home. Plus do you get some type of pay when your learning. In order
to get by while you are studying to become a Baptist Minister? Thank you.
Going to special training or college isn’t necessary. You can begin ministering unto the Lord and man immediately upon salvation.
Every saved believer is a minister from the moment they are saved. You can allow the Lord to use whatever methods He desires to use to keep you growing into use for Him. That might be time alone with Him, or time in church, or maybe for some it would be seminary. But to require seminary for ministry, would be unbiblical.
Pray and ask Jesus what method He wants.
Each Baptist convention has it’s own rules about Bible College versus seminary. colloquiums, internships, assignment or calling of pastors. I suggest you go to your Baptist pastor for the details. You won’t be admitted to seminary without his letter of recommendation among others anyway.
You can get a certificate immediately online for $29.95.
I am sure you can get better answers than mine. But to answer your question…there are pastors who have been preaching for a long time without the education you mentioned. they are called by God and immediately start preaching. but most prefer an education to better themselves. and if you are really called by God to preach HE will direct your steps to take and HE will take care of you as far as your expences. God bless you as you seek Him about your life..

Before you spend your money or waist precious time try looking into this web site http://www.mormon.org I know that what you are searching for in your life is waiting for you in a very loving way. You can hold the priesthood of Jesus Christ himself and become a great blessing to your family and to church members throughout the world. I extend this invitation to you and hope that our Father in heaven will open your eyes to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth. Best wishes to your eternal happiness.
No- you do not get paid while you are learning. If you are a working minister- a little (very little)
I can tell you about Southern Baptist.
For a pastor-
From the start you must have a college degree (BS,BA). Then you go to Seminary for a Master of Divinity. That will be 90-102 semester hours, depending on the Seminary. That usually takes 4-5 years. Some do it in 3. Usually while in the last year or two of Seminary you will preach/teach at a church that has no current pastor. Once you graduate from Seminary then eventually if not before a church will call you as pastor.
Without a college degree about 8-10 years.
Now you used the term minister—
You can be a minister without any formal training. You will need to have a good grasp of the Bible and active in a local church for a few years. Talk to your pastor about it.
It really depends on your specific denomination. There are several real good distance schools where you can do most of your study at home. There also many phony schools out there. I recommend you stick with accredited institutions unless you know for certain that one is okay. Luther Rice is an exceptional distance school in Atlanta Ga and it is accredited.
If you want- you can email me with some more info and questions and I would be happy to help you.
Blessings

depends on what school or seminary you go to and how much you can understand. You do not get paid as far as i know. You have to enter a program where you pastor or lead a church part time to get money unless you borrow.
The best bet is to contact several seminary schools where you can plan a course of action. Depending on what type of baptist you are looking into beling.
