He was Jesus cousin who was born of older parents for that purpose. The girl would not have asked for anything else for it was to have been that way to satisfy prophesy. Keep in mind that she could have asked for land or power etc. not just a boring gold necklace. Christianity would not have been changed for it happened just the way that God wanted it to be.
