They're a bit, you know, not quite right! They were banned from coming to picket here, and the decision to ban them was supported by baptist churches and the evangelical alliance (which includes lots of different denominations). Despite the name, they are not affiliated to any baptist organisation. I saw them in a documentary, and it seems they have some disturbing beliefs about the power of their leader. And as for the size of the church, it may seem sizeable, but remember almost all the members of the church are related to the leader, including his 50+ grandchildren! I think they just listen to him, and he picks bits of the bible to fit his ideology. He doesn't believe that God loves everyone, so I doubt he would feel much sympathy for crash victims.
